My latest playlist is inspired by several pieces of artwork depicting a skater punk Rey and a ballet dancer Ben. These artworks are a twist on the popular song, Sk8er Boi by Avril Lavigne. If you aren’t into Reylo, this playlist works as a general enemies-to-lovers style playlist!
Initially I wanted to make my own artwork, maybe a painting as my contribution to the “she was a punk, he did ballet” idea. Then I thought I could maybe write a short fic. Before I start on a story I usually make a photo storyboard or a playlist to help the flow of ideas. In this case, I spent a whole month choosing the right songs that I felt properly expressed the mood and tone of a skater punk Rey (angry, wild, a bit insecure) and a dancer Ben (confident, arrogant, quick to fall in love).
This playlist contains six sections, each separated by an instrumental. Each instrumental is meant to act as a song that Ben would be performing to as a ballet dancer. Here’s the playlist.
